Mine Supervisory System controls constantly operating of Excavator-Conveyor-Stacker systems located in each Open Pit.
Mine Supervisory System was implemented at first for the Open Pit Bełchatów and then for Open Pit Szczerców. It supports the Brown Coal Mine Operators in service through the comprehensive operation monitoring of the individual Open Pit technological system. Currently the system controls almost all of the machines – 25 excavators and stackers and 180 conveyors.
Current diagnostic of the whole site is held. Malfunction alarms and warnings are reported. Animated scheme of the technological system is presented on the large format synoptic display. One of the main system functionality is ability to start and stop of the individual conveyors remotely as well as ensure their security.
One on the most important tool, covered by the System, is Yield Tracking Module. This mechanism, basing on excavator efficiency data, conveyors speed and location of the dumping points, enables to plan the amount and parameters of the yield in any chosen element in the system. In that the Mine is able to supply to Power Station brown coal with demanded energetic parameters.
The Supervisory system enables to control the limits of the energy use, costs and energy consumption in particular time zone as well as power forecast which helps to optimize the operation of the system.
The most important Mine Supervisory System’s functions:
- collecting and displaying the data of binary and analogue signals from 25 excavators and stackers and from 180 conveyors
- remote conveyors start-up and stop form the Operating Centre
- conveyors’ reverse start-up, from the excavator to the stacker (called “reverse direction start-up”) which limits operating time of the conveyors without load
- planning of the energy use and expected power overrun alarms
- yield monitoring – reflecting of the yield’s amount and parameters from the particular system elements (excavators, stackers, conveyors)
- displaying current technological both Open Pit systems on large format synoptic display in Operating Centre as well as synoptic accessible from every computer station, connected to the system
Along with changes in the technological system also the Supervision System has been modernized and developed.
Several times hardware have been updated with the new and more efficient servers as well as the SCADA software.
